Ligo Haibun Challenge – Cartoon

with 5 comments

This week’s Ligo Haibun Challenge offered the word ‘Cartoon’ as prompt to write about. I went for cartoon as a ‘preparatory sketch.’

The rules:

  • The haiku/collection of haiku related to the text to close. The haiku should be as authentic as possible, with therefore no syllable count, no capitals or full stop, all ideally making 220 word max.
  • Wear the Ligo badge to the right with pride on your blog! And pin the Circle of Appreciation to your blog if you haibun is selected as an honourable mention!
  • Prizes are given on special occasions

Cartoon or Preparatory Sketch (206 words)

Brian…

Trevor…

Sebastian wore his hair short. His red curls clashed with his blue eyes.

Sebastian’s auburn locks were a perfect match for his sparkling green eyes. Standing in the queue for an Americano a caffe latte, he spied a brunette blonde he decided on the spot immediately he would marry could spend the rest of his life with. When she smiled in response to his wanton gaze, his heart skipped a frisson ran through him. She was definitely the one.

Coffee in hand he sauntered strutted through the busy coffee shop crowds of tables.

‘May I join you?’

Her smile widened. She tucked a stray brushed an invisible hair behind her ear. ‘Of course Please do,’ she whispered cooed choked as her tongue tripped over her cheesy inviting grin.

‘I’m Sebastian,’ he proffered a held out his hand.

Fiona  Patsy Abigail Charlotte,’ she said, offering her own. Sebastian leant bent forward and kissed the perfect smooth unblemished scented skin.

‘Let’s leave Can we leave, please?’ Charlotte said, slipping from her stool. ‘There’s too much of a crowd fug in here. I can’t help the have this eerie feeling we’re being watched, played with almost.’

    • Thanks so much for hosting. I had a good play with this challenge. And not all changes were originated by me.
